Birds of Ecuador

This is a male red-headed barbet. He just sat and watched, supervising while he had his mate try to break the window into our room by flying, beak-first, into it repeatedly:

One morning we were woken early by the loud calls of a toucan.

The toucan is a truly magnificent bird.

The hummingbird pauses for just a moment.
