How many people have you invited to your church in the last three years?
0 — 20.3%
1-3 — 31.2%
3-10 — 26.8%
10+ — 21.7%
For me the number is basically negative. I’ve discouraged people from going to church, or at least from attending any of the churches that I was attending.
My last three churches were UMC, Baptist, and a Non-Denominational Church. Here is a sampling of what I experienced:
- David and Jonathan were gay lovers
- Pagan mysticism
- Zionism
- On Father’s Day: single mothers are the real Fathers.
- Complete revamp of the children’s program without talking to any of the parents with children.
- Replace the popular (male) youth pastor with a (female) associate pastor of social media, who we dubbed the “Facebook Pastor.”
- On baptismal and communion Sunday, pastor explains that communion is reserved for those who have already been baptized. They then proceed to have the communion service followed by the baptism service.
Since I have not lived in Lancaster County for a long, long time, I recently tried to find a replacement Mennonite congregation outside the Lancaster Mennonite Conference. Well, this is what you get when you find a Mennonite church in the now firmly liberalized MCUSA:
On the previous Sunday, I attended a Reformed church. It was okay.

Did you ever hear anything similar to this interpretation of John 3:16 from a “Progressive Christian” Pastor named Pastor Sal(like in the following video)?

If pastor Salvatore represents “Progressive Christianity” then we need to start realizing that this isn’t just another stream of Christian thought, it is a false gospel trying to replace the true one. Jesus is merely being highjacked by some who want to utilize His fame for their unchristian cause.
I admit, Pastor Sal stunned me a bit with his “Progressive Christianity” reinterpretation of John 3:16, like few pastors ever have.
